MY EXPERIENCE ON STUDENTS’ DAY

By Rebeca Dominguez 2C

Every year on May 23rd, the school celebrates Students’ Day, where middle and high schoolers enjoy a fun, activity-filled day. This year was my second time experiencing it, and it was amazing.

I arrived at school excited. We were supposed to have one class, but teachers gave us a free period before activities started. There were so many options: water polo, a makeup room, a glass workshop, a cinema, Just Dance, Mario Kart, and more.

My friends and I first went to Just Dance because Mario Kart was full. We started with “Timber” and danced to more songs while our social-emotional teacher stole the spotlight! Afterward, we went to the board games room. We tried Texas Hold ’Em but ended up playing UNO instead. We had so much fun laughing until they called us for marquesitas. I had a Nutella one—so good!

Later, we finally got into the Mario Kart room. I started in the lead but ended up in 3rd place. We left the room happy and ready for what was next.

I once heard the phrase “Time flies,” and it’s true. Suddenly, it was one o’clock and time for tacos. While we waited, the Talent Show began. Some students sang beautifully; others just for fun. Even some teachers performed and totally owned the stage!

After eating some amazing tacos, we headed to the end of this thrilling day, where my best friend from another school came to greet old friends and teachers with amusement. I will never let the joyful smiles that formed during that part of the day slip from my mind. And so, this was my full Students’ Day experience, one I will never forget.
