Daniel’s Exchange Experience in Canada: A Week-by-Week Recap
My name is Daniel, and I’m excited to share my amazing exchange experience in Canada!
Week One: Arrival and Settling In Our adventure began with a night in a hotel before meeting our host family. The family was Mexican, making us feel right at home. On our first school day, we explored the campus and later visited the mall where my cousin Romi bought clothes while I picked up an Uno game.
Week Two: School Adventures and New Friendships Starting school was nerve-wracking but rewarding. I made lots of friends, and my entire class was incredibly welcoming. Teachers were supportive, and we enjoyed activities like playing in the snow and soccer during recess. Midweek, we went snowboarding with Miss Marta, which was a highlight of the trip.
Weekend Exploration: Banff and the Farm Experience After school, we stayed in Banff, a picturesque town with a market vibe. My cousin bought chocolates, while I just enjoyed the sights. Later, we stayed with a Canadian family on their farm filled with goats, chickens, and more. Sleeping in the farmhouse was a unique experience.
Final Days: Saying Goodbye Our trip wrapped up with a visit to a trampoline park and heartfelt goodbyes to our host families. At the airport, we waited for our flight back to Mexico. My family welcomed me with open arms, kisses, and celebrations. Throughout the trip, I collected special souvenirs like a book, candies, an Uno game, and Takis.
