4th Blue
Hello, my name is Emma, and today I’m going to talk about Children’s Day!
You might be thinking, “I already know what it is,” but let me tell you something interesting—some countries, like Saudi Arabia, do not have a nationally recognized Children’s Day. This means that some people there might not even know it exists!
Now, getting closer to the topic… In 1925, International Children’s Day was proclaimed in Geneva. This is a special date celebrated annually in honor of children. The date of observance varies by country; however, here in Mexico, we celebrate it on April 30th.
At school, we celebrate Children’s Day by doing fun activities such as water slides, treasure hunts, and many more. As a suggestion, I would love to see even more activities like talent shows, movies, and some challenges or trivia games added too!
On this day, we also honor children’s rights. But what’s so special about that? Well, we celebrate our rights—like the right to education, healthcare, protection, playtime, and more. But wait… there’s something else that’s super important: we have the right to be protected from violence. Violence can make us feel depressed or insecure, and children shouldn’t have to deal with those kinds of situations. This right helps create a safe space for us.
Now think—how can you bring happiness to us, children?
Well… many things! Even the smallest gestures—like giving a little candy—can make a big difference!
