Who doesn’t like to be right? Who likes being told you are wrong?

Right vs wrong was the concept we constantly put into practice in class. The most effective for us was the debate. Despite being something we did during the first trimester, we got it back but with a peculiar twist this time.

We have worked on interdisciplinary projects, but this is the first time we have intergrade debates. There were 4 teams, 3 members each, combining students from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. It was both interesting and challenging, since we had never worked together.

This year’s school debate with middle school was really fun and helped me step out of my comfort zone. Although I don’t usually enjoy debating, practice made it a great experience.

One of the best parts was teaming up with new people.

It was fun and helped me make new friends. The intergrade debate was a really nice and different experience from all of the previous debates. Personally I liked it a lot because we get to interact with students from other grades, I just felt we needed more practice with our teams.

We had to thoroughly prepare arguments for both positions, in favour and against, since it was decided till the very last moment. Researching, combining information, discussing, and adapting ourselves to different styles meant an unexpected but rewarding experience.

Nervousness and hesitation were overcome with confidence, and the results are something we will definitely remember.
